Description

Subject Matter:

This photograph depicts traffic on Fifth Avenue, New York in the early 1920s. The photograph is divided into two planes that cut diagonally across the frame. The bottom-left half of the image depicts cars and people in the street and on the sidewalk. The upper-right half of the image comprises two-city blocks of buildings, illustrating a variety of architectural styles. 

Physical Description:

Bird's-eye view of Fifth Avenue on a misty day. This photograph is divided into diagonal geometric planes created by the buildings and street below, which are filled with pedestrians and vehicles.
