Description

Subject Matter:

After traveling through Cambodia, Ceylon, China, India, Indochina, Malaysia, and Singapore for ten years, Thomson relocated in London in 1872. There, he worked on Street Life in London. In the following years, Thomson published the Asian images in a number of volumes. Thomson was elected a member of the Royal Photographic Society in 1879, becoming the photographer to Queen Victoria and later, George V.
