Subject Matter:
"Perhaps because its life is so short, the Morning Glory is associated with mortality, but the variety of size and colour and daintiness of petal makes its brief blooming a joy to be remembered...The Morning Glory has often been the subject of paintings and poetry."
Koehn, Alfred. Japanese Flower Symbolism. At the Lotus Court, 1940.
