Description

Subject Matter:

Oda Kazuma worked largely with nature scenes and was a famous printmaker. His work was also influenced by his education in western-style painting as well as lithography. 
The subject is Mt. Hodaka or Hotaka in a mountain range called the Japanese Alps or Hida Mountains. The title also includes the location of the scene, Kamikôchi Takusawa. 

Physical Description:

This colorful print depicts a mountain in the background and a grove of trees in the foreground. A fallen log is in the foreground and there is a waterfall on the left and right of the mountain face. Texture in the sky implies wind. There is a signature and date on the bottom right underneath the image.
