Night Music
Gary Mayer
Description
Subject Matter:
This painting is characteristic of much of Mayer's work. His style is recognizable by the thick, energetic lines and vibrant colors that often give his works, such as this, an aggressive and grotesque quality. Mayer was part of the second generation of Cass Corridor artists in Detroit during the early 1980s.
Physical Description:
A claustrophic row of trees crowded together with green leaves above, mouths with teeth protruding between, and from, the trees, and blue beyond.
