Nude
Philip Grausman
Description
Subject Matter:
Best known for his figurative sculptures, Grausman depicts the alternative to his portraits here. Similar to a drawing at the Baltimore Museum of Art (Reclining Model, 1970), this drawing of a woman shows the simple and smooth lines that can also be found in his sculptures.
Physical Description:
This drawing depicts a nude woman laying on her back with her arms folded above her breasts. Her left leg is bent at the knee, and her knee points upwards. The lines of her left leg end at her calf. The woman's right leg and head are not visible in the drawing. The drawing is signed and dated (l.r.) "Grausman / 1970".
