Description

Physical Description:

Black with matte black circle and scroll design. Water crests are of many types, designs based on flowing water, water in ponds, or other inspirations. The flowing water motif, with its distinctive S sharped formned by the parallel lines, can be found in Yayoi period artifacts.  This particular water crests called "Kanze Whirlpools".  The Kanze family, head of one of the schools of Noh, used this design of a whirlpool of water as the ritual motif for the head of the Kanze school
