Description

Subject Matter:

Marilyn Bridges describes the markings and monuments that she photographs from above as “the messages of humankind.” As a pilot and photographer, she documents contemporary landscapes connected to ancient times, which addresses the human relationship to the earth and environment. This photograph depicts an overview of Delphi in Greece. Delphi is located on Mount Parnassus and holds the ancient sanctuary that was considered the center of the world by the Ancient Greeks.

Physical Description:

This photograph depicts an aerial view of an archaeological site on a mountain. A road stretches through the mountainside, which is covered in trees and overlooks a coastal plain.
