Description

Subject Matter:

This biomorphic representation of a person in bright colors is reminiscent of Miro's early paintings. It is simpler and the figure larger, however. Miro began creating lithographs fairly late in his career- he produced his first color lithographs in 1948.Throughout his career, Miro worked with a variety of mediums, and he was a painter, printmaker, and ceramicist. In 1970, Miro created a Personnage sculpture whose figure resembles the one in this print.

Physical Description:

This print shows a figure with a blue body, black head, blue arms, and one black leg and foot and one orange leg and foot in a boneless depiction which resembles the style of a child. There is an orange circle to the right of the figure. A black rectangular outline surrounds the figure and the circle.
