Description

Physical Description:

This plate has a central gazelle motif in white against a blue background. The paste is a light tan "Islamic II" while the glaze is glossy with wide crackle. The plate was fired upright. It is composed of a now faded cobalt color on a light green-white ground and is iridescent. The plate is attributed to the Safavid period in Iran.
