Description

Subject Matter:

Denton often photographs young children in nature and domestic settings. She addresses themes of everyday life, identity, and childhood. Denton uses an 8x10 Phillips camera with vintage lenses, creating atmospheric, dream-like imagery. In this image a young girl lounges on a plush reclining chair, danlging a string of gum above her mouth. The photograph has a soft focus, creating an atmospheric, dreamlike quality.
