Description

Mrs. Converse may be Emma Converse (nee Tudor), the wife of Boston composer Frederick Converse. Paxton painted portraits of Frederick in 1899, a full family portrait in 1903, and a wedding portrait of Paxton's daughter, Louise, in 1915.
