Description

Subject Matter:

Potentate is a collage of fabric and paint that is built of overlapping, irregularly shaped blocks. Botkin was an American painter who began experimenting with collages in the early 1950s. 

Physical Description:

This collage consists of overlapping shapes that loosely resemble squares and rectangles. The shapes are muted tones of green, blush, blue, yellow, brown and black.
