Subject Matter:

Rideau de Peupliers is a landscape of Vendée, France. Auguste Louis Lepère was a French artist who explored many media but consistently depicted the French countryside and life in Paris. He is most well known for his wood engravings, his favorite medium to work in.

Physical Description:

This is a landscape with a row of tall trees on the left and a slightly smaller tree standing alone to the right. A windmill is in the background between the trees.
