Description

Subject Matter:

A photograph from a portfolio of images in which Helmut Newton depicts celebrities, designers, and models in highly contrived poses and often placed in decadent scenes. In this photograph, a woman stands in a doorway, one arm holding the door, the other leaning on the frame as her hand brings a cigarette to her lips. In black lingerie, stockings, and heels, she looks into the room which contains a plush chair, flowers, and a painting.
