Subject Matter:
Although Lombard began visual arts later in life, his fascination with detail and technique was evident from the beginning. This is one of Lombard's earlier works and focuses on buildings in the German city, Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Unlike Lombard's later sketches, which feature detail studies, this work aims to capture the townscape.
