Description

Subject Matter:

One of a number of views of the Route de Schyn produced by Adolphe Braun during this period, this photograph depicts the Solis bridge from below and at a distance. The viewpoint, taken from the bank of a small body of water, emphasizes the precariousness of the bridge that links two mountains on the Route de Schyn. Braun's chosen perspective on the scene portrays the bridge as if suspended in the air, and encompasses the diversity of the terrain encountered on the Route de Schyn, including water, mountains, and alpine trees.

Physical Description:

View of a bridge between two mountains, situated above and behind a small lake.
