Description

Subject Matter:

Sandino en la montaña shows the famous Nicaraguan leader Sandino, who was known for leading the rebel movement against American involvement in Central America and the Nicaraguan government. The print is of General Sandino and a few of his men on horseback in the forest. The print is part of the series titled the The Saga of Sandino. Printed by Artegrafias Limitadas, it was later exhibited at the Museo Rufino Tamayo in Mexico City. Morales himself was awarded a medal of honor by the Sandinista government and was appointed a representative to UNESCO. 

Physical Description:

Seven faceless men are shown on horseback riding through a jungle. They have weapons and a dog is leading their group.
