Description

Subject Matter:

As one of the leading Op artists, Stanczak explores the grid as a representation of beauty and the pleasures of vision. For Stanczak, the beauty of the grid was in its solidity of the vertical and horizontal components, and its ability to create abstract space visually. This work reflects the new avenues the artist was taking in the 1980s with his most intricate works in terms of line and color to date.

Physical Description:

This print has an abstract composition with small red and gold squares and dots arranged in a grid pattern against a blue background.
