Description

Subject Matter:

Clarissa Bonet's work in her series Stray Light departs from her earlier work, in which she staged elaborate scenes to appear as snapshots of the city. In Stray Light, Bonet continues to address themes of isolation and its relationship to place, particularly the city. In this series, she addresses the anonymity of people in their homes, collaging 20-40, or, as many as 97, images to create a final work. The windows, photographed over a period of time, are digitally placed in the final composition, in which a multitude of windows mimic the starry night sky.

Physical Description:

A photograph of a cityscape at night; the only light source emanates from a multitude of small windows that appear to float in a black backdrop.
