Description

Léger was one of many French, German, and Austrian avant-garde artists in the early 20th century who practiced a gestural form of drawing introduced by Rodin. This method attempted to record quickly the essence of the contour and movement of the model's body as well as the expressive path of the artist's hand and mind.
