Still Life
Emanuele Cavalli
Description
Subject Matter:
Cavalli painted many still lifes, including several similarly arranged depicting some of the same objects including in 1970 Natura Morta con Conchiglia and Conchiglia e Sfera. Cavalli was a part of the second phase of the scuola romana (School of Rome) movement, a group of artists gathered together out of friendship and culture rather than stylistic similarity, although a return to classicism was a dominant current.
