Subject Matter:

Osono is a character in the Treasury of Loyal Retainers (Chūshingura).

Onoe Kikugorō IV was active from 1831 until 1860, just prior to his death. He was a member of the Onoe line of kabuki actors. The Onoe line is one of the oldest lines of actors, with more than 250 years of history.

Physical Description:

This is an image of a woman. She wears a black hood over a purple robe. Her hands are hidden in her sleeves. Next to her, the side of a building is visible. A white box above her head holds lines of calligraphy. The background is otherwise black.
