The Bowdoin at Monhegan
Warren Lombard
Description
Subject Matter:
The Bowdoin, a two-masted auxiliary schooner built expressly for work in the Arctic, was launched in 1921, just three years before this print was made. Here is it shown at anchor off the coast of Monhegan Island, Maine. It's presence off the coast of Monhegan, the artists's residence, likely caused great interest in the neighborhood.
Physical Description:
This print shows a two-masted schooner at anchor, with several rowboats in orbit around it.
