Description

Subject Matter:

The Crowd is part of the series titled Men Like Gods which is based off of the H.G. Wells novel by the same title. In the print a frantic crowd presses against a railing. One boy near the center hangs on looking frightened, a woman next to him brings her hand to her face possibly in shock, and another individual is slumped over the railing. The novel is about a man who accidentally ends up in a futuristic utopian world. This scene is likely depicting his time on earth rather than in the more orderly utopia.

Physical Description:

In a nocturnal setting, a large crowd of people is corralled into a space encased by a railing.  The figures are in various states of distress and unrest.
