Subject Matter:
Actor Sawamura Tosshō II also held the name Suketakaya Takkasuke IV. He was born in 1838 and was active from the time he was a child in 1842 until his death in 1886. He began his career in Edo (present day Tokyo) and travelled frequently between Edo and Osaka.
Physical Description:
This is a print of a woman. She appears to be dancing, with one leg raised and both arms out to her side. She wears a blue robe with red and pale blue flowers. A man stands behind her wearing a black robe and veil. Behind them is a raised platform.
