Description

Subject Matter:

Francis Bedford was an acclaimed British landscape photographer with a background in illustration. The waterfull depicted in this image is located at Badgworthy Water, which flows through Malmsmead on Exmoor, between Devon and Somerset, England. It is in Doone Valley which is the setting for the novel Lorna Doone. The waterfall is surrounded by plants and trees in this idyllic setting where currents form a whirlpool. 

Physical Description:

This photograph depicts a waterfall cascading through a lush wooded forest. The water streams down the fall and forms a whirlpool in the right foreground of the scene.
