Description

Subject Matter:

TLP and Me was made as part of the portfolio IMAGES, created and self published by Mark and five other artists in an edition of 20. Mark's interest in re-imagining domestic and interior scenes is evident here.  The work is a representation of the loft space that Mark moved the press to during her time as its director.  The flowers on the table and in the background likely depict the namesake of the press, Tiger Lily Press. Mark seems to be using this print to pay tribute to the mission of the press and its support of local and women artists such as herself.

Physical Description:

This print is an image of an imaginary interior scene in tones of blue, black, and grey.  A simple grey table and three black chairs, one to the left and two to the right of the table, sit in the foreground. Three plate-sized flowers rest on the table and three more float in space at the top of the print. Between the table and the top of the print a raised pathway comes in from the right, makes sharp turn to the back and disappears in the distance.  The image is on handmade paper and the texture of the paper comes through prominently in the print.
