Description

Subject Matter:

Twilight is an abstract print that appears to interpret the transition from day to night. The artist, Alfred Manessier, was a French painter and decorative artist. Around the time Manessier made this print he also made several stained glass windows for churches in France. Religion remained a strong theme throughout his work after he made a three day visit to the Trappist monastery in Orne. It was also this visit that caused him to turn to abstraction.

Physical Description:

This is an abstract print with pinkish and dark brown rectangles and irregular geometric shapes set against a brown background.
