This Russian-born artist created thousands of drawings. In this work, a man holds up a woman. Having participated in the 1913 Armory Show, this work is representative of the modernist style in which he worked. Walkowitz used minimal lines to capture the essence of the human form and its movement.

Physical Description:

A drawing of two nude figures: a man standing and holding a smaller female figure to his left. Soft lines and shading in black ink make up the work. The drawing is signed and dated in pen (l.r.) "A. Walkowitz / 1909".
