Description

Subject Matter:

Denton often photographs young children in nature and domestic settings. This image is from the series Leafsmoke, which investigates themes of everyday life, identity, and childhood. Denton uses an 8x10 Phillips camera with vintage lenses, creating atmospheric, dream-like imagery. In this image, a young girl rests in a forest clearing, leaning on the handlebars of her bicycle. She wears a necklace of wildflowers and loosely draped overall shorts. The soft focus blurs the majority of the scene.

Physical Description:

In this photograph of a young girl in a forest clearing she sits on a bicycle, resting her arms on the handlebars. She wears a necklace made of flowers and a pair of light-colored overall shorts.
