Untitled
Matthias Weischer
Description
Subject Matter:
One of a group of young German artists creating art after the fall of the Berlin Wall, Weischer, part of the so-called "New Leipzig School", uses domestic space to investigate the balance between chaos and harmony. As seen here, thick paint added in layers and layers gives a sense of artificiality to the seemingly natural scene of a suburban home.
Physical Description:
A painting of a red brick house with red shingles and a large window, in front of a green background. A yellow path cuts from the bottom left of the house to the lower left of the painting.
