Description

Subject Matter:

The face of this literati seal contains a verse from a poem by the Tang dynasty (618–907) poet Li Shangyin (813–858).

Physical Description:

Brown and black rectangular block with black writing on each side and on the top and a . On the bottom of the block is a seal that has dried red pigment residue.

Cubical seal block carved from light brown stone with darker striations. Characters are etched into each face, and a seal with dried red residue is carved into the bottom. It is housed in an embroidered light brown, green, and black box with a white interior.
