This shape of this vase is called yuhuchunping, a popular form of ceramic and porcelain wares since 10th century. It was originally used for carrying wine, but was gradually transformed to be a vase for display purposes thanks to its elegant carvy shape. The simple abstract design is characterized by simple lines and reduced form of lotus petals on the lower section.

Physical Description:

This pear shaped vase (yuhuchunping) has a wide flared rim that thins into a long straign neck, then widens into a round bottom-heavy body, and sits on a short wide wide foot. The decorating is made up of verticle and horzontal lines with slight curved.
