Description

Subject Matter:

This vase is decorated with abstract patterns in three sections separated by plain bands. The shape of this vase models on the "yuhuchun" type of vase originated in China since the 10th century.

Physical Description:

This pear shaped vase (yuhuchunping) has a wide flared rim that thins into a long straign neck, then widens into a round bottom-heavy body, and sits on a short wide wide foot. The decorating is made up of verticle and horzontal lines with slight curved. on eack end of the neck is a geometric design.
