Description

Delicately embossed feathers enhance the bold forms of the White Egret. The three-dimensional effect of embossing is achieved by applying enough pressure to wet paper to actually push the design of a carved block into it. The lone bird standing helplessly in the downpour strongly suggests a melancholy mood.
The term yohaku best describes the blank space, giving it equal importance to the egret in the overall design.
