Subject Matters: Art’s Role in Religion is Beyond Belief!

Tue, Apr 2, 2024
6:00pm–7:30pm
Eleanor Noyes Crumpacker Gallery

Art can document, shape, and share religious practices across time and traditions. It can find commonalities and engage in the complex relation between individual faiths and interfaith understanding. For this edition of Subject Matters, UMMA Curator and host Dave Choberka will be joined by Christine Modey (Director of the Michigan Community Scholars Program) for an exploration of religious expression in art that is truly beyond belief.

Subject Matters is an event series that invites you to make new connections, explore art and ideas, and surprise yourself. Presented in conjunction with the exhibition Curriculum / Collection.
