Webster MFA Reading Series: Brianna Uzoh and Moon Boyoung

Organized by the Helen Zell Writers’ Program and presented in partnership with UMMA, the Mark Webster Reading Series showcases the work of second-year MFA students in fiction and poetry.

Brianna Uzoh is a fiction writer from Northern California. Her work centers girlhood, religion, and myth-making. She studied English and comparative literature at NYU and was a recipient of the Tory Dent Research Scholarship in creative writing.

Moon Boyoung is a South Korean writer who debuted in 2016 by winning the Joongang New Literary Award. Her first poetry collection, Pillar of Books, received the Kim Soo-young Prize and was translated into English in 2021. She has published poetry, fiction, and essays, and participated in the 2023 International Writing Program at the University of Iowa.

Friends, family, and members of the Ann Arbor community are welcome to attend the readings both in-person at UMMA or live on Zoom. This series is free and open to the public.
