Table Manners Book Club — Hosted by the UMMA Student Advisory Board

University students visit UMMA on September 25, 2025, joining tours led by David Choberka, Madeline October Wildman, and Julia Laplaca. A study room session was also led by LSA Professor Lisa Makman.

Join the UMMA Student Advisory Board in conversation with book selections inspired by the UMMA exhibition Table Manners: Season 1. Books were selected in collaboration with the exhibition curator Ashley Miller, Assistant Curator of African Art, and available for purchase in the UMMA Shop.

Over coffee, tea, and pastries, explore ideas from “A Forest of Flowers” by Ken Saro-Wiwa. Find new meaning in the exhibition, connect the literature to the media, and make some friends.

Free and open to the public – no registration required.
