Joining the SAB is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a professional museum setting and develop meaningful connections with those who celebrate art in their lives. The SAB is dedicated to creating a culturally inclusive community through programmatic efforts, and amplifying student voices to shape the museum.

Applications for the student advisory board are open twice per year. The next application cycle will open in Summer 2024

Who can join?

Any U-M student is invited to join. Undergraduate, graduate, transfer, commuter, or non-traditional — we want you!

Is it paid?

Yes! All SAB members receive a $250 stipend per semester.

Opportunities for the SAB Leadership Board include:

Developing creative, diverse, and inclusive programs

Creative oversight of UMMA’s Student Blog

Contributing to UMMA’s social media (@ummamuseum) and campus presence
